Damage Policy
This Damage Policy explains the responsibilities, procedures, and charges related to vehicle damage for rentals booked through Click2Rental. By using our website and services, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below. Damage liability is governed by rental partner agreements, selected insurance coverage, and applicable laws.
1. Renter Responsibility
The renter is responsible for the condition of the rental vehicle from the time of pickup until it is returned. Any damage, loss, or theft occurring during the rental period may result in charges, subject to the rental partner’s policies and the insurance options selected at booking or pickup.
2. Pre-Existing Damage
Customers must inspect the vehicle thoroughly at the time of pickup and report any pre-existing damage to the rental provider immediately. Failure to document existing damage may result in the renter being held responsible upon return.
3. Types of Damage
Damage may include, but is not limited to, dents, scratches, broken mirrors, cracked glass, tire or wheel damage, interior damage, mechanical damage caused by misuse, or exterior damage resulting from accidents or negligence.
4. Accidents & Collisions
In the event of an accident or collision, the renter must immediately notify local authorities (if required), the rental provider, and follow all procedures outlined in the rental agreement. Failure to report an incident may void insurance coverage.
5. Insurance Coverage
Damage protection and insurance options vary by rental partner and location. Click2Rental does not provide insurance directly and is not responsible for coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, or claim approvals. Renters should review insurance terms carefully before accepting coverage.
6. Excluded or Uncovered Damage
Certain damages may not be covered by insurance, including damage caused by reckless driving, driving under the influence, unauthorized drivers, off-road use, violation of rental terms, or intentional damage. Such cases may result in full financial responsibility for the renter.
7. Theft & Total Loss
In cases of theft or total loss of the vehicle, renters may be responsible for the vehicle’s value, loss of use, administrative fees, and related costs, subject to insurance coverage and rental partner policies.
8. Interior Damage & Cleaning
Renters are responsible for maintaining the interior condition of the vehicle. Excessive dirt, stains, odors, smoking violations, pet damage, or spills may result in cleaning or repair fees assessed by the rental provider.
9. Tire, Wheel & Undercarriage Damage
Damage to tires, wheels, rims, or the undercarriage is often excluded from standard insurance coverage. Charges for repair or replacement may apply depending on the rental partner’s policy.
10. Damage Assessment
Damage assessments are conducted by the rental partner after the vehicle is returned. Charges may include repair costs, parts, labor, loss of use, and administrative fees. Click2Rental does not control assessment outcomes.
11. Payment of Damage Charges
Damage-related charges may be applied to the payment method on file after vehicle return. By agreeing to the rental terms, renters authorize such charges where applicable.
12. Disputes & Claims
Any disputes related to damage charges must be raised directly with the rental provider. Click2Rental may assist with communication but is not responsible for claim resolutions or decisions.
13. Fraud & Misrepresentation
Click2Rental reserves the right to deny support or assistance in cases involving suspected fraud, false damage claims, or misrepresentation of incidents.
14. Legal Compliance
Damage claims and charges are handled in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.
15. Changes to Damage Policy
Click2Rental reserves the right to update or modify this Damage Policy at any time without prior notice. Updates will be posted on this page and take effect immediately upon publication.
